Adaptation

Adaptation is one of the characteristics of living beings. human being are particularly very good in adapting to new conditions of life. And I, as one of the seven billion of them have manage to adapt to the new issues and conditions of my life. Facing one of your worst fears, you will go through devastating state of mind first, and then you start to imagine the worst possible outcomes. The fear of that haunts you for a while and then, when you wake up one morning, you see that you have come into terms with your worst fears. You say to yourself, I can face it if and when your worst fear materializes. Nothing is sacred, except for the human life, and things are in constant motion and change. I come into terms with my worst nightmares. And then comes the depression. And silence.
This phase of my life will also pass, like the other ones that have already expired and are lost and forgotten somewhere deep in my mind. I grow older and I will forget more. I will bury my oldest dreams one by one as I have already done such disturbing cruelty to them. I have learned through my life to fake that everything is fine. I have learned to stay silent and condition myself to forget the pain. every person, every dream, every love and emotion, and everything sacred thing that is lost, forces us to get a stronger grip on what is left. We lose our loved ones one by one, our dreams are lost, our emotions are stamped on. Gradually, we either become indifferent to what happens to us, or we try to protect the ones left. The worst is, when you realize one day that very few of your precious people/ideals/dreams are left.

But you know that You, will still survive. Darwin was right.

Roshanak Jan,

I am a frequent lurker on your blog and I love your writings. I too struggle to find answers to some of the questions that you talk about here, and it is in a way nice to see them articulated so well here.

Anyway, this past weekend I heard this episode of SOF on NPR (see the link below), and at some point during the conversation it reminded me of your blog. I thought I'll post the link, in case you haven't heard it, and hoping you might find it useful.

One last thing, I just hope you don't feel lonely or discouraged in your path to live a more meaningful life. I think life is so fragile and so precious that it is worth every effort to find the best way to live it. I wish you all the best.
